This Great Egret pops in for a morning feeding of fish. As we can vividly see the field mark for this large majestic white heron is its yellow dagger like bill. This summer the Long Island Sound water has never been cleaner.
This Snowy Egret lands here often for the late day feeding. Watch in the first part how he rushes about with shuffling feet to stir up food. Also we get a good look at the black legs and the yellow feet.
Last summer I only saw Great Egrets in this habitat. This Snowy Egret stops by every late afternoon when it is low-tide and dinner time. This small white heron has a slender black bill and black legs.
For the past couple of days a Snowy Egret and a Great Egret have flown in together at dinner time. They spend about an hour here walking around and feeding. The Great is bigger and has a yellow bill. The Snowy has a black bill.
