A small white heron with a slender black bill, black legs and yellow feet.

These 2 egrets are feeding on fish along the low-tide shore. The Great Egret has the yellow bill. The smaller Snowy Egret has the slender black bill.

While searching for food the Great Egret assumes forward-leaning pose with neck extended.

Great size, blue-gray color, white about the head and long plumes mark this heron (sometimes mistaken as a crane).

A bright early summer sun and a strong north wind blow the long plumes of this Great Egret standing on a rock made of the world famous Stony Creek pink granite.
